Questions the community has been divided on, and how the game really works.
Does damage to a destroyed part reach the cockpit?
Yes. Every hit on a destroyed part goes to the cockpit.
A round that hits a part with no HP left damages the cockpit instead, whatever the part is. It never goes to the part a weapon is mounted on.
The cockpit takes it against both defences added together: the destroyed part's and its own. So a well armoured part still shields the cockpit after it is destroyed.
Splash does not pass through: a destroyed part takes no splash and passes none on.
What does a Weapon COM's Aim Stability do?
It narrows your weapons' spread by a tenth of its value, in percent.
Every round lands somewhere in a box around the aim point. Aim Stability shrinks that box, across and up: 35 makes it 3.5% narrower, 200 makes it 20% narrower.
It does nothing for recoil or stability, and the legs' COM Compatibility does not change it.
Can COM chips make a two barrel huge cannon fire faster?
No. Its second barrel always fires 0.4 s after the first.
The MSK-HC1500/D and MSK-HC1501/D fire their two barrels 0.4 s apart, and no COM, part or stat changes that. The same holds for every weapon that fires more than one round each time: the time between its rounds is fixed.
Can COM chips make the weapons in a group fire faster?
No. A group fires one weapon at a time, at most one every 0.05 s.
Holding the trigger fires the group's weapons in order, each 0.05 s after the last, and each again as soon as it has reloaded. No COM, part or stat changes the 0.05 s.
